What is changing?
The Temporary Zero VAT rate on PPE products which came into effect on 1st May is due to end on 31st October. This measure was enacted to ensure the supply of Personal Protective Equipment for use in accordance with the infection prevention guidance published by Public Health England. This change will apply to the whole of the UK.
Which products will this effect?
Standard VAT rates will be re-introduced onto all PPE products that are recommended for use by Public Health England to prevent and slow the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Products this will effect:
- filtering face piece respirators
- disposable fluid-resistant gowns or coveralls
- surgical masks
- eye and face protection – including single or reusable full face visors of goggles
- disposable plastic aprons
- disposable gloves
Any orders on the above products placed with Industrial Workwear after 2pm on Thursday 29th October will become subject to VAT subject to stock levels. The VAT charge will be added onto products that are out of stock and will be dispatched after Friday.
